Special Interest Group Discussion - Same Day Emergency Care with Sue Greenwood MBE QN, Cornwall NHS FT
We are pleased to announce the return of our Special Interest Group discussions for 2025. Our first speaker of the year will be Sue Greenwood from Camborne Redruth Community Hospital, presenting on 5th February at 7:00 PM.
Sue will discuss Cornwall's innovative Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) initiative, which has successfully diverted 80 critically ill patients from A&E this winter, thereby significantly reducing the pressure on acute services within the Trust.

Lord Darzi Support for Community Hospitals Lord Darzi’s 2024 report on the NHS highlights the importance of delivering care closer to home, empowering staff, and simplifying services for local communities. He praised the vital role of community hospitals in supporting acute services and providing care locally. While noting challenges with data collection, he commended the CHA for their advocacy and contributions to improving healthcare.
